It's Official!
The RA Approves the creation of the RACCC!
On April 25, 2012 the RA Board formally approved the "adoption" of the YCCC and the creation of the "RA Canoe Camping Club" (RACCC) with a seed investment to assist the club in the development of a new boathouse.
For new members who may not be aware, the club needs to move out of our current location by September 1st of this year - due to the sale of the Carlingwood Y where the current boat shed is located. Many dedicated volunteers have worked over the last couple of years to help ensure we have a new place to call "home"...so a huge Thank You to everyone who has helped or otherwise supported this process.

Warm Welcome To All New and Returning Club Members
We currently have over 270 club members registered for the 2012 paddling season, including over 60 new members and several "ex-members" from years gone by that are returning to paddling this year. Welcome all, to what we hope will be another great year of paddling adventures.
Thanks to an abnormally early thaw, the paddling season has already started BUT lets not forget that the water is still very COLD. Talking about remembering things, lets please also remember that if you have not already re-registered for 2012, to please do so before April 30th when all un-renewed memberships must lapse, in accordance with our Club Constitution.

With the club moving out of the Carlingwood Y canoe shed at the end of the summer of 2012, it seems appropriate to reprint the below article by Ted Blake that appeared in the November 1998 YCCC Newsletter. Some additional construction photos follow the article.
