The club currently has around 300 members who organize hundreds of trips & training events each season. Membership gives you access to our equipment (including our fleet of the latest in whitewater and flatwater canoes) & full access to our website where we post the information on events for all ages & skill levels: From beginner workshops, relaxed evening paddles, day trips and easy-going weekends to world-class training and extended wilderness expeditions. Members of the YCCC also have access to the following club resources:
- Articles are continuously submitted by members reporting on trips, safety concerns, environmental matters and other topics of interest to club members.
- Our website calendar of trips and events that expands as the season goes on and even continues into the winter when the canoeing slows down but other activities, indoor and outdoor continue.
- Rulse and regulations, procedures, training, safety, up-to-date list of members including contact information.
- The whitewater list of those members who meet the club criteria.
The YCCC is run by volunteers for volunteers. This allows us to keep costs down and provides members the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the club, learn new skills and meet many other canoeists and outdoor enthusiasts.
Ottawa is ideally situated in the hub of world-class canoeing destinations: Beautiful parks like Gatineau, Algonquin, La Verendrye, Frontenac as well as the Ottawa, Madawaska, Petawawa and Rideau Rivers are all within a short drive. Come and explore these and other wonderful wilderness areas with us!
