Summer Corn Roast and Evening Paddle.
Thursday 27 August 2009

** Weather is looking good for Thursday, but cool. Bring a jacket. Also bring a loonie and a two-nie for parking. It is a Parks Canada site so you need to pay a nominal fee for parking . **

**The shed will be open from 5:30 to 5:45 to get a canoe if you want to go for a paddle or you want ride to the picnic area. Only 2 spots in the car available so let us know ASAP - socialcanoe@gmail.com***

On Thursday August 27th at 6pm we will be holding our Summer Corn Roast and Evening Paddle at Black Rapids located off Prince of Wales Drive.

We will be there setting up at about 6 pm. We will get the coals hot as soon as possible. The club will provide the corn, the condiments and the coals.

Please bring your own BBQ-ables and something to share with the group (for example a salad, chips or a drink). Also please bring your chairs.

I REALLY need some help with this event.

Please e-mail me, Helen Ries,  socialcanoe@gmail.com or call 613-722-3153.

- I need two people to help me roast corn (I have no idea how to do this!!)

- I would like someone to help lead an evening paddle if the members want to go.

- I need someone to help open the shed so members can get a boat.

- A few hands for set up and clean up.

I will try to keep the website up-to-date regarding weather and possible cancellation. We don’t have a nice gazebo like at Andrew Hayden Park so if it rains we may have to cancel.

Looking forward to seeing everyone out!
