Trip Leaders Wanted!To make the 2011 flatwater paddling season a success, we need YOU! We need trip leaders for Thursday evenings to Meech Lake, weekday or weekend day trips, weekend and longer camping trips. If you have never led a trip, Meech Lake evening trips or day trips are a good place to start. There are usually lots of experienced club members on these trips who would be willing answer your questions. Alternatively, most trip leaders would be quite willing to show you the ropes on one of their scheduled trips. You can find suggested destinations on our website. If you know what trips you want to lead, please post the details of the trips on the calendar on the club’s website. To post a trip on the club’s website (yccc.ca), do the following: - Go to www.yccc.ca - Login with your username and password (at bottom of menu bar on left hand side of home page) - Click on “Submit a Trip or Event” (in User Menu section near bottom of menu bar on left hand side of home page). The Edit Event page will appear. - Click on the Common tab. - In the “Subject” box, fill in the trip title as you want it to appear on the Calendar (e.g. Lac La Peche) - In the "Categories" box, select "Flatwater Trips" from the drop-down menu - In the "Access" box, select "Public" - In the “Activity” box, fill in a description of the trip. Include the level rating of the trip, including distance paddled, number and lengths of portages, driving distance/time. - In the "Location" box, fill in the destination (e.g. Lac La Peche) - In the "Contact" box, fill in the name, phone number and e-mail address of the contact for this trip (usually the trip leader for club trips) - In the "Tags" box, click on "Flatwater" (so that this event will appear if someone displays only Flatwater events on the calendar) - Go back to the top of the page and click on the "Calendar" tab - In the “Start Date” section, select the start date, enter the start time and click "am" or "pm" - In the "End Date" section, select the end date, enter the end time and click "am" or "pm" - Click on “Save" icon at the top right of the page. It will be posted in a day or so on the website (postings are reviewed before being added to the calendar, except for those members who have “Publisher” status.) - If you need to later change the information you posted, go to the monthly page on the calendar where the event is displayed, click on the event to get the description page displayed, and click on the pencil icon on the upper right (this is the “Edit event” function). Then after editing the sections you want to change, click on the “Save” icon at the top right of the page. |
