Your 2012 YCCC Membership All you need to become a member of the “Y” Canoe Camping Club (YCCC) is enthusiasm for the great outdoors and an interest in paddling. Purchase, loan or rental of some essential personal gear is also required, like a suitable paddle, and a properly fitting PFD (personal flotation device). Some camping gear may also be a necessity for training courses and tripping opportunities, like a sleeping bag and sleeping pad, for example. If you are thinking about running out to buy new personal kit and equipment, you might first wish to check out what is available for loan or rent from the Club. On your flat water or white water training courses your instructors will offer appropriate purchasing tips. As paddling is a water based activity it is hoped that everybody is, or will become, a confident swimmer. Non-swimmers are welcome to join the Club but need to wear their PFD at all times when on or around the water. The Club programs are for adults and families. Dependent children under 18 participate as family members at no additional cost. The Club has over 300 adult members of various ages, interests, skill levels and paddling preferences. Benefits of membership in YCCC include:
Membership year runs from April 1st 2012 to March 31st 2013. There are two annual adult membership registration rates in effect, but these have not yet been determined for the 2012 year. This will happen in March 2012 (just for comparison purposes the rate in 2011 was $60.00)
