How to get to start and finish of trip (Car access):
Hwy 7 - pass Silver lake. Take Hwy 509 north.Take dirt road west, Ardoch Rd. approx. 8km to the sign for Tumblehome Lodge.Turn right and drive down to their marina.Buy (North Frontenac Township) recreation day parking pass for $6.Go back up to Ardock Rd.Turn right.Drive for approx. 1.5 km to the public boat launch road.Turn right and take road down to boat launch.
Note:
Tumblehome Lodge is the closest location to the public boat launch where you can buy the day permit but, if you can find one of the other 5-6 locations where you can buy the permit on the drive along Hwy 7, then you can avoid the back and forth trip to Tumblehome's marina.

Comments on Campsites (Limitations, General Location):
Plentiful, several located about area of lake near Gull Creek. Tumblehome Lodge mentioned that the Crotch Lake campsites are no longer free. We were told that there are approx. 70 campsites and that they are never all occupied. We didn't get info on how to book a campsite.
