Chiniguchi August 2011Trip ReportEight club members did a week long trip to the Chiniguichi area led by Henry Nur. This is crown land to the east of Sudbury. It has been described as Killarney without the crowds. The trip had four portages in and four portages out.
After one hot and difficult portage, we rewarded ourselves with a swim in the turquoise waters of Paradise Lagoon.
Paradise Lagoon comes complete with a waterfall going down two sides of a large rock pyramid.
After Paradise Lagoon, Henry had to consult his map to figure out which island we would stop at for lunch.
Michele with our four canoes packed full of camping gear.
Michele and Jim in transit past some of the interesting rocks found around Chiniguichi.
A beautiful beach campsite with old growth red pine.
Carniverous sundew growing on the beach.
Light reading on the beach!
One of Xuan's many magnificant campfires.
On a rest day, a hike to a very good view.
On the return journey, the weather took a turn for the worse.
On the way out, we had to line a swift between two lakes.
