The Pumphouse is located behind the old archives building, downtown. It is very close to the Portage Bridge.

Most people will land up travelling east on Wellington/Scott street, and turn left after Booth street onto Albert (as if you intend to go onto Bronson South). You'll almost immediately turn left onto Brickhill road. This looks like your turning into a parking lot. From Brickhill, turn right, then at the fork go left. This will go to an underpass which leads to the parking behind the archives. Park in the corner of the lot as soon as you see the parking. There should be lots of kayakers there as well, so the parking lot will be obvious when you pull in.

A picture is worth more than my words, so here's a link to a map I generated in Google.

You'll see some markers on the left. Search for "Pumphouse Slalom", and click on this. Zoom in to see where the parking lot is.

Brickhill Road is now closed, the entrance onto Brickhill from Albert Street is blocked by large cement lane dividers.

Another approach which works is:
Start on Bronson, northbound, from Somerset or further south.
Turn left onto Albert Street heading west. Almost immediately take the next right onto Commissioner street. Follow Commissioner Street north to Wellington Street, turn right on Wellington, and almost immediately take the left fork onto Fleet street. Follow Fleet street through the underpass to a large parking lot.
